Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has wrapped up his Romania visit, after meeting with top Romanian politicians over bilateral cooperation.

He has also sat down with leaders of Central and Eastern European countries for an annual summit.

His tightly scheduled trip has seen a number of documents signed between China and CEE countries, including an agreement to build a railway linking Budapest and Belgrade.

His next stop will be the Uzbek capital of Tashkent, where he will attend the 12th prime ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Ahead of the visit, Chinese ambassador to Uzbekistan, Zhang Xiao says bilateral economic cooperation has strengthened continuously.

The trade volume between the two countries has reached over 3 billion US dollars during the past 9 month this year, an increase of 65 percent.

The diplomat also highlights cooperation in maintaining security in the region.

"China and Uzbekistan have established the security cooperation mechanism. The two countries have been cooperating closely on cracking down on terrorism, separatism and extremism, anti-terrorism information exchange, anti-drug movements, border control, personnel training and material assistance."

For more on the Premier's attending of the SCO meeting, CRI's Nathan Wakelin-King earlier spoke to Zha Daojiong, professor at the school of international studies in Peking University.
