The descendents of eight famous Chinese poets from the Tang and Song Dynasties met in Beijing on Wednesday.

Dressed in traditional Chinese clothing known as Han Fu, they aimed to discuss the creation of a website designed to promote the poetry and literary works of their ancestors, the Beijing News reports.

"The eight great poets of the Tang and Song Dynasties" refer to Han Yu, Liu Zongyuan, Su Shi, Su Xun, Su Zhe, Ou Yangxiu, Wang Anshi and Zeng Gong.

Seven years ago, the descendents of this famous group of poets first met in Beijing in the hope of forming a group in order to promote the works of their ancestors.

They've met regularly in the past years to discuss matters relating to their ancestors' works. And the new website "Tang Song Yi Feng" they talked about at the latest meeting aims to promote and revive the literature, culture and traditions of the Tang and Song Dynasties.
