A new digital platform officially launched Thursday lets Beijing residents schedule hospital appointments from home, the Beijing Times reports.
Developed by the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau and China Unicom's Beijing branch, the platform lets patients make hospital appoints via internet protocol television (IPTV), multimedia video calls, mobile phones and multimedia messaging service.
China Unicom said it plans to promote IPTV as the main way to schedule hospital visits. People at home will be able to use it to complete their appointment registrations via their television screens and remote control devices.
