The video series "Tandem-China and Austria" jointly produced by China International Broadcasting Network (CIBN) and Austrian television broadcaster ORF will premiere in Germany on February 23.

The eight-episode series will introduce Chinese culture, lifestyles and thinking to German-speaking nations and vice versa. Each episode which lasts 45 minutes will compare the two nations in certain fields such as economy and education.

Launch ceremonies for the series were held in Beijing and Vienna on the same day.

Shi Mingde, China's ambassador to Austria, and Martin Sajdik, Austria's ambassador to China, welcomed the new program via video clips shown at the ceremony.

Shi Mingde said he hoped the program could enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, while Sajdik said he hoped that people from both countries would like it.

China and Austria are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties this year.

"Tandem- China and Austria" has been listed as one of the major cultural exchange programs between the two sides.

CIBN and the German Service of CRI Online will broadcast the series in the near future.
