The Beijing Municipal Government plans to set up a database of retired experts in science and technology, medical treatment and education, in the hope of encouraging and standardizing their reemployment, the Beijing News reports.

The government document says companies and public authorities are encouraged to hire retired experts to help in scientific research and development, rural educational work and community health care.

Retired experts can also be reemployed via organizations and the recommendation of related social groups.

The government will establish specific service centers, projects and hotlines to facilitate the reemployment of talented retirees.

In response to difficulties in protecting retirees' rights, the document stipulates that companies and institutions must sign a contract with retired experts and pay for their work related injuries.
