U.S. President Barack Obama finished his four-day state visit to China and left Beijing Wednesday afternoon.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Zhou Wenzhong and U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman saw him off at the airport.

During Obama's visit, Chinese President Hu Jintao held talks with him. Top legislator Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao met with him respectively. He also toured the Forbidden City and the Great Wall while in Beijing.

A China-U.S. Joint Statement was issued during the visit, which reiterated the two sides' commitment to building a "positive, cooperative and comprehensive relationship in the 21st century" and taking concrete actions to build partnership to jointly cope with common challenges.

Obama arrived in Beijing Monday afternoon from Shanghai. Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping greeted him at the airport.

At the invitation of Hu Jintao, Obama touched down in Shanghai Sunday night, where he met with municipal officials and college students on Monday.

China was the third leg of Obama's Asian trip, which had taken him to Japan and Singapore, where he attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
