Nanchang University in east China's Jiangxi Province opened on Sunday a campus supermarket, offering a wide range of handmade art products that can well serve students as 'mirrors of the soul', jxnews.com.cn reported.

The fair-like campus supermarket offers visitors a certain amount of virtual currency to visit and get their favorite 'soul-mirror' artworks. Each piece of artworks, made by art-loving students on campus, is believed to convey a positive mental attitude on life, including courage, self-confidence and aspiration.

For instance, a charger, produced by a student from the School of Information Engineering, inspires users to live life with a "stabilized voltage supply", which implies improved emotional control of joy, sorrow, reverence, hate, and love, etc. - a prerequisite for leading a comfortable life.

Other soul-mirror handicrafts include an eggshell-made artwork that carries a message of support for earthquake-hit Wenchuan residents and a Chinese map composed of small red papers.

The visit to the soul-inspiring-product supermarket is part of a campus-wide activity that aims to improve university students' mental health and marks Psychological Health Day for College Students on May 25.

Other campus fair services offered included an evaluation of students' mental health, a psychological consulting service and the alleviation of mental stress, arranged to improve students' ability in coping with psychological problems.

A student who took part in the activities said that he was impressed by other participants' optimistic attitudes and longed to abandon his negative outlook on life.
