Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Friday that all Chinese businessmen visiting Pakistan would be exempted from paying visa fees.
The minister also issued instructions to related authorities to facilitate Chinese workers to get visas, an Interior Ministry statement said.
The instructions were issued during Malik's meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Liu Jian at the Ministry of Interior. The two sides discussed issues of bilateral interest, the statement said.
The Chinese ambassador conveyed best wishes to President Asif Ali Zardari from the leadership of China and himself, it said.
Liu appreciated Pakistani government's efforts to protect Chinese workers, employees and business communities in the country.
All Chinese working in Pakistan feel safe and well protected, the Chinese ambassador said.
Malik said China had always shown its solidarity with Pakistan and always stood by in all difficult times and the friendship had fostered understanding between the two nations.
Pakistan and China are celebrating 2011 as the friendship year. Though the celebration will end in December, but the friendship between the two countries will continue for the coming centuries, said the minister. |
