The final mv for 'Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon (2013)', a film directed by Hong Kong director Tsui Hark, was released in Jinyuan Stellar International Cineplex on Sunday, 1st September.

The film's huge "sea dragon" monster appeared in the 3D edition of the trailer. Audiences were amazed at the "unprecedented" 3D effects in the scenes where the actors rode horses underwater. Tsui Hark, supervisor Chen Kuofu and leading actress Carina Lau attended the press release conference. Hark disclosed that the 3D technology team on the film was twice the size of that on "the Flying Swords of Dragon Gate."

Liu shared her feelings on working with the film's director, saying, "I'm grateful that the director gave me another opportunity to collaborate with him. Actually, I really appreciate his talents. It makes me feel excited every time I participate in one of his films. I just make myself relax and let him lead me into a fresh new world. Although I'm a bit tired, and my hair fell out after shooting the film as the headwear was really heavy, I must say thanks to Hark."

Liu admitted that each time she saw Hark she would ask him if she could act in his film. When the opportunity appeared, she became nervous after finding out that she was to play the part of Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in Chinese history, who lived in the Tang dynasty. But Liu appreciated that it was a great opportunity which enabled her to collect a lot of information regarding Wu's genealogy.

As for the reason why Hark chose Liu as the leading actress, he explained that Liu was special in the entertainment circle and highly capable, owning several shops whilst still managing to attend numerous activities; in this sense, she resembles Wu Zetian.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters across China on September 28th.
