Chinese film star Zhang Ziyi attended the press conference for the release of the music video for the theme song for her new film "My Lucky Star" in Beijing on Thursday, August 29th. Zhang shared her thoughts on the MV.

Zhang explained that the music video, or MV, was conceived after she received a micro message on WeChat, a mobile text and voice messaging communication service developed by Tencent in China. Her friend had sent Zhang a picture of herself eating barbeque. Since Zhang had never eaten barbecue in the street with her friends before, she asked the friend to try it with her. The friend picked her up to go to a barbeque place in Shuangjing, east Beijing. They enjoyed eating the barbeque so much that they didn't mind sitting right next to a garbage bin by the stall. They stayed there until 4 in the morning and talked about Yin Xishui, the main character in the MV. Yin was born in 1990s and placed in the top 12 of "China's Most Ictus", a reality program produced by Hunan Satellite TV.

Talking about reasons for choosing to cooperate with Leehom Wang, Zhang said it was her responsibility as Zhang's female best friends cannot resist the Wang's charms and glamour.

Zhang said she completed the task for them. Discussing the roles Wang played in the film, Zhang commented that Wang was perfect as he could display his talents in terms of performing the fighting scenes, as well as being intelligent and playing music when needed.

Yu Dong, president of Bona Film Group, a leading film distributor in China and the production company of the film "My Lucky Star" also attended the press conference and gave very positive comments on Zhang's contribution to the film.

Directed by Dennie Gordon, an American film and television director, the film is to hit screens in China on September 17th.
