Musician-turned-filmmaker Lee-Hom Wang's directorial debut, "Love in Disguise", premiered in Beijing on Monday, August 2, M1905.com reports.
Wang, who is also the film's lead actor, brought his cast, including leading actress Liu Yifei, to the premiere.
Wang plays a superstar who falls in love with a student (Liu Yifei) who is majoring in the zheng, a Chinese zither.
Liu said she had to spend a lot of time learning to play the zheng for the film.
Wang said he was happy to hear the audience laughing at the film's funny scenes, because it proves he made the right choices when editing the film.
Liu Yifei wore a sexy pink evening gown, a bit different from her previous girl-next-door style.
"Love in Disguise" will be released on August 12.
