The 2009 MTV Awards and Style Gala was held in Shanghai Grand Theatre on Wednesday night.

Songstresses Jane Zhang, Tanya Tsai and Karen Mok were named the most stylish female singers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan respectively, while the corresponding awards for males went to Xu Wei, Khalil Fong and Stanley Huang.

Fahrenheit and Super VC were awarded the most stylish singing groups prize.

Since its debut in 2003, the annual music gala has gathered veteran singers, esteemed actors and talented artists from home and abroad.
