Japanese pop idol Noriko Sakai has gone missing following the arrest of her drug scandal-hit husband, Sakai's agent said on Tuesday.
The singer-actress has not been seen and has not responded to repeated phone calls since her husband, Yuichi Takaso, was taken into custody on Monday for the possession of illegal drugs, according to Masahisa Aizawa, president of the management agency Sun Music.
"A missing person's report has been filed," the agent said in a televised press conference on Tuesday, "If Noriko is watching this, please know that we are very worried and please talk to us."
Noriko Sakai, 38, has enjoyed great pan-Asia popularity, particularly during the '80s and '90s.
