As China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television has finally given an OK to a new season of "Super Girl", the Hunan Satellite Television is now calling on the future stars to shoot for their dreams through this American-Idol-like talent show.
A promotional video featuring pop idol Li Yuchun, the show's biggest ever popularity winner, was aired on Tuesday.
"Who's the next super girl? I'd like to meet you!" Li appeals in the video.
Although the timetable and rules of the contest are not finalized yet, sign ups for the preliminary round will start in Changsha, capital city of Hunan province, on May 1, said a Wednesday news release on the official website of the TV station.
All female Chinese citizens above 18 are eligible to compete in the upcoming singing talent race.
Like the former seasons, the regional preliminaries will be held in six locations around the country, although the other five cities have not been announced yet.
