SOUNDBITE: Michelle Yeoh, Actress and Producer, said: " I took the job as the Jury President as I have confidence in Asian films. We must encourage and support Our Asian films."
We not only have "Bollywood," Korean New Wave, but also "mega blockbuster hit films from the Chinese mainland," Yeoh said. She was proud of the great achievements of the Asian films industry.

Launched in 2007, the Asian Film Awards (AFA) is a pioneering program honoring filmmakers with outstanding achievements in the field of Asian cinema.Chinese films are up for top awards.
"Forever Enthralled" is nominated as Best Film, the Best Newcomer and the Best Supporting Actor. "Red Cliff” is up for Best Film, Best Director and Best Visual Effects. "If You Are the One" directed by Feng Xiaogang is nominated in the Best Director and the Best Actor categories.
The Awards will be held on March the 23rd.
