"Xinjiang through my lens" Winner's Trip to Xinjiang

China Radio International and the Media Office of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region this year have selected 11 luckiest netizens taking part into the voting process and brought them to Xinjiang to personally experience what is currently happening in that wonderful piece of land.

"Xinjiang through my lens" is a photo contest jointly held by China Radio International and the Media Office of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the year of 2011. Afterwards tens of thousands of netizens across the world participated in the voting of these photos taken in Xinjiang and 360 people were finally chosen out as lucky netizens. In order to get Xinjiang known and understood by a wider range of people across the world, China Radio International and the Media Office of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region this year have selected 11 luckiest netizens taking part into the voting process and brought them to Xinjiang to personally experience what is currently happening in that wonderful piece of land.

The winner selected from English-speaking countries is Denis G. Campbell (click here to learn more about him). And the following is the schedule of the trip:

 [July 8----July 10   Living in the Mercure Wanshang Beijing Hotel (four-star, high comfort hotel) overnight]

July 8 (Sunday)         
Picking up guests from foreign countries at the Beijing Capital International Airport, bringing them to the hotel and helping them check in.

July 9 (Monday)
0800 Having breakfast in the hotel;
0830-1000 Going to the Great Wall by bus;
1000-1200Visiting the Great Wall;
1200-1430 Back to the urban area and having lunch;
1430-1730 Visiting the CRI building and multiple language departments there;
1730-1930 Banquet held by top leaders of CRI;

July 10 (Tuesday)
09:50  Setting for Urumqi (capital of Xinjiang autonomous region) on flight CA1477 (Air China).
14:05  Arriving in Urumqi and checking into Hong Xin Hotel (four-star, high comfort hotel) ;
16:00 Visiting the offices of a famous local website in Xinjiang, www.tianshannet.com.cn.
17:00  Visiting the office building of Qarluq Tech. Co. Ltd, a well-known local software engineering company;
18:30   Visiting the Xinjiang International Bazaar;
20:00   Having dinner;

July 11 (Wednesday)
10:00  Visiting the Museum of Xinjiang Autonomous Region;
11:30  Visiting the Red Mountain Scenic Spot
14:00  Having lunch
18:30  Celebration ceremony in Cinda Hoi Tak Hotel with the participation of senior officials of Xinjiang Autonomous Region as well as leaders from CRI;
20:00  Welcoming banquet;

July 12 (Thursday)
09:30  Visiting Turpan city after breakfast
11:30  Visiting the Jiaohe Ruins;
12:30  Visiting the Karez Museum;
14:00  Having lunch;
16:30  Visiting the Mountain of Flames;
18:00  Visiting the Grape Valley;
20:00  Back to Urumqi after dinner;

July 13 (Friday)
09:30  Visiting T'ien Ch'ih after breakfast;
13:00  Having lunch;
16:30  Flying to Kanas on flight CZ6613 (CHINA SOUTHERN AIRLINES) and arriving at Kanas at 17:25.
18:00  Setting off to the Kanas scenic spot by bus and visiting the Valley of Sleeping Dragon, the Valley of Moon, and the Valley of Faerie on the route;
20:00  Having dinner and spending the night in a local hotel;

July 14 (Saturday)
09:00  Overlooking the panoramic view of the Kanas Lake on a pavilion called the Fish-watching Pavilion
12:00  Touring the Kanas Lake by boat;
13:30  Having lunch in Kanas scenic spot;
15:00  Visiting the Hemu scenic spot by bus and appreciating the scenery of local virgin forest and high-mountain meadow;
17:00  Paying visit to a local family in Hemu;
19:30  Spending the night in a local hotel in Hemu;

July 15 (Sunday)
09:30  Going to Burqin by bus after breakfast;
12:30  Visiting the Five-Color Beach scenic spot;
13:30  Having lunch in Burqin;
15:30  Visiting the Koktokay scenic spot;
20:00  Having dinner and spending the night in Koktokay;

July 17 (Monday)
09:00  Paying a visit to the Koktokay scenic spot after breakfast and touring a local hot spring;
13:30  Having lunch in the Koktokay scenic spot;
16:00  Going to Altay city by bus and paying a visit there;
20:00  Having dinner and spending the night in Altay;

July 17 (Tuesday)
09:00  Having breakfast in Altay city;
11:05  Back to Urumqi on flight CZ6844 (China Southern Airline) and arriving at Beijing at 12:00 in the noon;
14:45  Back to Beijing on flight CZ6903 (China Southern Airline) and arriving at the Beijing Capital International Airport at 18:30.

July 18 (Wednesday)        
Seeing guests off at the Beijing Capital International Airport;
Guests back to their home countries.
