Location: south to the equator of the West Pacific.

Nauru is located on an oval coral island, which has a steep coast. Its coastline is 30 kilometers long. Nauru has its coast strip as the only agricultural area, which is 150 to 300 meters in width and 30 meters in height. The middle part of the country is mesa whose highest altitude is 64 meters. 3/5 of the island is covered by phosphate. There is no river in Nauru and it only has salt-water lake (Buada Lagoon) in the southwest part. The climate of Nauru is tropical rainy climate. The annual average temperature there is 25 ¡æto 35¡æ and the annual average rainfall is above 2000 millimeters.
The Nauruns usually live in the residence established by government in the low-lying plage. They wear quite simply because of the hot weather.
