From September 30, residents and tourists will be offered a cultural feast at U-town 2008 Beijing Chaoyang International Tourism and Culture Festival.

According to organizers, this year's event in Chaoyang Park will contain five international segments featuring tour agencies and companies from Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania and Americas.

Keeping true to the China's Olympic year theme, visitors will be treated to an interactive exhibition of Olympic items like flags, logos, champions' photos and the five Olympic rings.

At the launch ceremony on August 28, Vice Director of the Organizing Committee Ran Dong told CRI that they invited the Japanese and Greek government to showcase their culture at this year's event.

"The great success of Holland Village at last year's event inspired a Japanese company. Holland Village accepted thousands of visitors and built a strong reputation for itself. The Japanese also want to make full use of this platform. Chinese President Hu Jintao visited Japan earlier this year. The two countries are walking closer and closer. Covering the largest area, the Japanese booth contained not only food and beverages but also cultural display and performances. It is very rich in content."

The organizer also explained how Greek culture is featured in the festival.

"The theme of 2008 is, 'From Olympiad to The Great Wall.' Here they are. They bring us Greek food, wine and even the romantic, charming aspects of their culture."

So let's look forward to the opening of the festival.
