Just two days before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, CITVC announced its cooperation with Achaean Victory Media SA Company. CITVC guarantees that customers can purchase a limited edition DVD of the opening ceremony on August 10 for only 50 yuan, or 7 US dollars.

Victory Media reached an agreement with the International Olympic Committee on the acquisition of the fixed media rights in China to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in July. Victory then authorized CITVC to produce and distribute related video products. Kostas Sakkaris is the chief executive officer of Victory Media.

"Gentlemen, no one else can produce or distribute video products of the Beijing Olympic Games within the territory of China. I can guarantee you that."

Ma Runsheng, general manager of CITVC, unveils more details on the cooperation.

"We are authorized to enjoy the rights within the territory of the People's Republic of China, including Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan. The duration of the agreement starts from this moment to the first half of the year before the 2012 London Olympic Games."

The cooperation also includes the exclusive use of the historical archive "Olympic Series 2008," which documents the Olympic Games from 1896 to 2004 and the history of the Olympic torch from 1896 to 2008.

The company will produce the mother disc the night of the opening ceremony, which it will send to five copy centers in China. Ma said the DVD launch exemplifies the Beijing Olympics mottos.

"This time, we want to show off the mottos of the Beijing Olympics, including green, high-tech and people-friendly Olympic Games. In reference to the people-friendly Olympic Games, we will make very little profit on the Olympic products so as many people as possible can afford them. As to the green aspect, the packages of these products are made of renewable materials."
