Olympic Torch Relay in Qinhuangdao

The Beijing Olympic torch relay started its leg in Qinhuangdao in northern China's Hebei province on Wednesday.

Qinhuangdao is an Olympic co-host city for football events.

The torch relay kicked off 8:00 am at Shanhaiguan or Shanhai Pass, the east end of the Great Wall which is considered the No.1 pass of the Great Wall in the Laolongtou scenic spot.

The first leg was run by Xi Enting, a former table tennis world champion and now a coach of the Chinese national team.
