China, U.S. Launches IPR Protection Cooperation Program

China General Administration of Customs and U.S. Trade and Development Agency signed a cooperation agreement on Intellectual Property Right (IPR) protection in Beijing on Thursday.
Under the agreement, IPR protection experts from two countries will introduce to China's customs staff the international customs rules and regulations, rules and laws concerning IPR protection of China and US,IPR professional knowledge, and others.
Delegates of U.S.'s commercial field will also have chance to hold talks with Chinese customs staff to exchange their views on IPR protection.  
 
UN Deployment in Darfur Not Agreed

The Sudanese government and the United Nations failed to reach an agreement on the deployment of UN peacekeeping forces in Sudan's western Darfur region.
The UN Security Council adopted a resolution on May 16 giving the Sudanese government a week to let in an assessment team to carry out preparations for the deployment of UN peacekeepers in Darfur.
The Sudanese government, however, has refused a military role of the UN in Darfur, affirming that the peace agreement did not provide in its security arrangements any role for the UN or any other party except the AU. 

Italy Helicopters to Be Purchased for Serving 2008 Olympics

Beijing police will purchase advanced helicopters from Italy Augustwestland Helicopter company, which will serve for security of 2008 Olympics.
Beijing Daily says Beijing police will purchase four such helicopters which will be delivered around April 2007 .
