To Blog or Not?

"On many nights, when Xu Jinglei finishes her diary entry and hits the send button, there are many people waiting in front of their computer to read the article and post their comments. You may consider this an exaggeration, but I would liken this to a war without the smoke of gunpowder. The enemies don't see one another, but they are stealthily struggling to be the first person who can read the new post of their idol.  Their weapons are simply their computers and their mice. "

As for Xu Jinglei, although she never expected her blog to be so popular, she does admit that these comments are the reason why she loves blogging so much.
¡¡
"I love to read the comments concerning my posts. Not because they're all positive, but rather because they're all true. For example, if an acquaintance says to my face that he loves my movie, he might just be trying to flatter or comfort to me. Yet on the Internet, people tend to be very straight-forward, because we don't know each other. Personally speaking, I consider neither my writing skills nor my personal appearance to be outstanding. Instead, maybe people like my blog because there's no pretence in my articles ¨C I'm just trying to be true to life and to myself." ¡¡¡¡

Although Xu Jinglei is modest about her writing, many note this as the main reason for the popularity of her blog.  If so, this is a rare thing in the world of celebrity blogs, where the cult of character is often more important that the art of writing. Indeed, an unbiased reader might well be unimpressed by the standards of most blogs, while most will just focus on their favorite stars, regardless of writing ability. Here's blog expert Dong Lu for some more thoughts.:
