Like a piece of new moon, Yalong Bay gracefully lies along the coastal line 25 kilometres east of the city of Sanya. It is facing the sea and surrounded by hills on three sides. Gentle waves together with warm marine monsoon are patting this white sand beach eight kilometres long and about fifty to sixty meters wide. Here the water is very clear wtih a visibity of nine metres deep.

Yalong Bay, one of the world's best, boasts the five most essential characters admired by international tourists nowadays, namely sunshine, sand beach, seawater, fresh air and greenness. Yalong Bay is situated in the same latitudes as Hawaii of the tropical monsoon area. It enjoys a mild climate throughout the year, with no distinct seasons and long stretches of warm spells. The average temperature year-round is 25.5 C and the average hours of daily sunshine year-round is 7.1 hours. The annual amount of rainfall is 1,063 mm.
