Reporter:

Gao and Yao's company is one with limited liability. Founded in 1996, the company was registered with a capital of 300,000 yuan. At that time, Yao held 80 percent of the shares, while Gao had only 20 percent. Later, through expansion, that capital amounted to two million yuan, 65 percent of which belonged to Yao and 35 percent to Gao. When she lodged her lawsuit, Gao asked the court to freeze all of their assets. Yao was taken aback.

"After she lodged a lawsuit against me, the company's account books were sealed up. I was kept in the dark and didn't even think about divorce."

Gao agrees that when the divorce came down, Yao was caught unprepared.

"After I sued, the funds were frozen and he came back immediately. He said it was all his fault and promised to change. I relented and withdrew the case a week after the funds were frozen."

Yao explains.

"I would say she herself is kind and honest. But she doesn't have many brains and cannot resist what her family willfully breathes into her mind."

After the case was withdrawn, the matter of divorce was put to rest for the moment. Gao still raised their daughter at home while Yao handled the company's affairs. Gao recalls her thoughts.

"In my mind I said to myself that two years later, if he came around, I would forgive him. I could forgive him anything."

The relations between the husband and wife needed time to recover. One year passed. Had Yao come around? As the situation developed, Gao said that the one-year period was nothing but Yao's trick to gain time.
