Some superstitions get passed on throughout the centuries, ranging from beliefs about lucky numbers, jinxes and trinkets, and to not breaking a mirror. But just because there is no rational explanation doesn't mean we are going to stop opening up an umbrella indoors or buy an apartment on the fourteenth floor. As long as there are things we don't understand, people will always turn to other explanations for answers.
