We reported yesterday that a group of 13 volunteers from the U.S.-based Yale University are teaching pupils at Beijing's Shuren Primary School for Migrant Workers. Yingying visited the school.

It's been a special week for kids at Beijing's Shuren Primary School. 13-year-old Wang Junchao has just been given an English name and says he likes the classes taught by the young teachers from Yale.
"My English name is Clark, given by these foreign teachers. They told me it's the given name of Superman. I like to study with them. It's not stressful. I feel they're actually playing with us in class."
The Yale University students are working with 14 middle school students from the Hunan Yali School which was started by Yale University 100 years ago. During their weeklong stint at the Shuren School, they will offer courses in English, handicraft and science. He Zhanqin, one of the teachers at the Shuren School, says although the project only lasts a week, it will have a far-reaching influence on these migrant children.
"Many migrant children always think they're looked down on or neglected by society. But now that the students from the world's best university have come to teach and play with them, they feel honored and more confident. "
After class, Yingying also talked with Carol Yu, leader of the Yale volunteer students.

For this activity,Yali students from Hunan raised 7000+ RMB, and bought a projector, projector screen and speakers for Shuren Primary School
