A man climbed up a cliff and found himself hanging from a tree trying to take a shortcut home in Dalian, Liaoning province, on Sunday.

The man told his friend, with whom he had been fishing, that he was sure there was a shorter way to his house from the top of the cliff.

His friend tried discouraging him but failed.

The man climbed up the cliff and was stranded on a tree 20 meters above the ground when his friend phoned firefighters for help.

Police in Xiamen, Fujian province, rescued a college student who was attacked by his classmate after he farted during his birthday celebrations at a restaurant last week.

Wu, who was invited to Hong's birthday bash at a seafood restaurant along with seven other classmates, farted out loud and swore he would do it again when Hong flung a chair at him.

Police officials arrived on the scene and broke the fight.

Lin's husband rushed her to the hospital when she said she was unable to stand up.

Doctors said she suffered from a broken lumbar vertebra.

A man who stabbed his wife after dreaming she was having an affair with another man will stand trial in Binyang county, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Public prosecutors said Zhang, a farmer from the county's Liuhe village, has been charged with the crime of causing intentional injury.

Zhang said he became suspicious after having a recurring dream that his wife was sleeping around.
