Hike in the countryside of Beijing

Beijing is undoubtedly an exciting place to live. With a population of roughly 17 million, coupled with China's seemingly unstoppable economic growth, the city is a thriving, vibrant metropolis full of energy and change.

But it is still nice to get out of the city into the countryside to stretch your legs and get a breath of fresh air. That's where Beijing Hikers comes in. Founded in 2001, Beijing Hikers is dedicated to organizing walks in the Chinese countryside.

CRI's Dominic Swire donned his walking boots to find out more.
