Zhang Ziyi 'enraged' by paparazzi photos
Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has expressed her resentment over a series of paparazzi photos that show intimate scenes of her and her fiance.
A series of 81 photos were released last weekend on an English-language Website, and quickly spread to Chinese Websites. Some sites will temporarily shut down due to the overwhelming number of hits, according to a report on Sina.com.cn.
The photos show scantily-clad Zhang Ziyi and Vivi Nevo sunbathing on a beach. In some of the photos Zhang is topless. Clearly unaware of the paparazzi, the pictures show the two caressing each other. Sources say the beach was the private property of Zhang's millionaire fianc¨¦ Nevo.
"It is a matter of personal privacy," Zhang's publicist Ji Lingling said in a statement. "Ziyi and her fianc¨¦ were vacationing on a private beach enjoying a normal part of life." Ji added that the photos were a serious infringement of the couple's privacy.
The actress is now working to have these photos removed from the Internet, but has not yet indicated whether she will file a lawsuit.
"If you are the One" Tops Box Office of Spring Festival Movie
Director Feng Xiaogang's Spring Festival comic-romantic movie "If You Are the One" has raked in 30 million yuan after just 19 days in theatres,topping at the box office list.
The only movie last year to have surpassed 30 million yuan in ticket sales was Red Cliff I, which raked in 31.2 million.
This achievement also makes Director Feng the first Chinese director to have made more than 1 billion yuan in movie ticket sales over the span of his career.
