A: Hello and welcome to Listeners' Garden here on China Radio International. I'm your host, LPC.

B: And I'm JP. Time really flies! Once again we are about to ring out the old year and welcome the new.

A: Yes, thanks for joining us in the last edition of Listeners Garden for 2008. Next week on our show, we'll have stepped into a brand new year.

B: A new year marks a fresh new start. It's always an occasion for us to reflect upon the past and look ahead to the future.

A: Right, the past year has been a busy and fruitful year for China. We have experienced so many exciting and memorable events, such as the Beijing Olympics and Paralympic Games and the Shenzhou 7 manned space mission.

B: But at the same time, China has also encountered serious hardships like the serious snowstorms earlier this year and the tragic Sichuan earthquake.

A: Looking back at the eventful year, all we want to say now is a big thank-you to all of our listeners for the great support you've shown us throughout the year. Whether we are experiencing joy or sorrow, we know you are always there sharing our laughter and tears.

B: So at this time, more than ever, we want to express our heart-felt thanks to our loyal listeners, and also wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

A: Yes, Happy New Year! May all your dreams and resolutions come true in the New Year.

B: And now let's see what's in store for today's program.

A: Well, on today's show, as usual we'll first check our mailbox letterbox to see what our listeners have to say.

B: And then we'll bring you the final report of our review of China's reform and opening up over the past 30 years. Today we'll talk about China's stock market. Please stay with us.

A: Welcome back to Listeners' Garden. I'm LPC.

B: And I'm JP. The song we are listening to is very popular among stock investors in China at the moment. With its humorous words and music, it vividly depicts both the sweetness and bitterness shareholders face as the stock market rises and falls.China's Stock Market
