Taiwan tours are becoming increasingly popular among mainland tourists thanks to the direct flight arrangement across the Taiwan-Straits starting earlier this month.

The price of flight ticket from the Chinese mainland to Taiwan has dropped accordingly because of the shortened flight hours.

An Na works with a travel agency in the northeastern coastal city of Dalian.

"The cheaper price has attracted many tourists to enquire about tours to Taiwan. In our agency, travel tours have already been booked till the end of next January."

The cost of an eight-day tour of Taiwan has decreased by around 10 percent, or roughly 130 US dollars, on average. Insiders predict that with the overheated market, the price still has room for further reduction.
