Taiwan top-selling diva Jolin Tsai signed with Warner Music to much fanfare last night. A spectacular 'contract signing' ceremony was held in Beijing's National Aquatics Centre.

The ceremony took place at 9:10 PM. Warner deliberately timed the ceremony at '9' (jiu), which sounds similar to her English name, Jolin, and '10' (yi ling), which sounds similar to her Chinese name YiLin, for the time of the press conference.

Jolin's contract with record label 'Gold Typhoon' expired this year, and many large record companies fought to sign her. In the end, it was Warner which managed to snap her up.

It has been reported that the main reason Jolin has made the decision to sign with Warner is Chen ZeShan, who is currently serving as the president of Warner China. Jolin has been working with Chen ZeShan since her debut and quickly shot to fame under his stewardship.

When asked about her new album, Jolin revealed that production had been completed and it was expected to be released after the Chinese New Year.
