A: Welcome to Letterbox. Brian Kendall from the UK says:
"It's a good idea to cover the 30th anniversary of Reform and Opening Up. I, of course, remember the period before that when China was much more closed to the world. Your broadcasts have undergone tremendous changes since the start of the reform process, mirroring the nature of reformed China. I welcome the changes that have been made and the greatly improved relations between China and the United Kingdom."

B: Hi Brian, thanks for your comments. Great changes have taken place here in China over the past three decades, and we welcome all of our listeners to share their thoughts on the changes.

A: Next, John Whelan from Canada writes in to say:
"I have been receiving CRI on my shortwave receiver. I enjoy listening to your news and cultural programs. Keep up the excellent work. I look forward to more interesting programming from CRI in the near future.

B: Thanks for your encouragement, John. Now, we have a letter from Indian listener Mukesh Kumar:
"I like to listen to your program based on listeners' letters from around the globe. It's good to know other listeners' opinions on your programs. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work."

A: Hi Mukesh, glad to know you like our show. It's always a pleasure for us to hear from our listeners. So whatever you want to say, please find time to write to us.

B: Now, moving on to Amin Najmi from Morocco.
"I started listening to CRI English in 2002. At first, I listened through the shortwave. Now, I find that your Website is really wonderful. It's very interesting and full of information about China and world news. I open it everyday to listen to your programs and learn Chinese. I want to tell you that I love CRI very much, and I will always be with you. Please wait for my next letter in Chinese!"

A: Hi Amin, thanks for writing to us. We're encouraged by your kind words, and we look forward to hearing from you again, either in English or Chinese.

B: Sanusi Isah Dankaba is from Nigeria.
"After your Guangxi and Guizhou contests, it's good that CRI is having a new listeners' quiz on Sichuan province. I'm very happy about that. CRI has done a good job organizing such interesting contests for listeners to learn about China and have chances to win some prizes. Finally, I would like you to announce the winners of the Guangxi and Guizhou contests.¡±

A: Hi Sanusi, thank you very much for your interest and participation in our listeners' knowledge contests. But please be patient ¨C we will release the results of the Guangxi and Guizhou contests soon. We'll let you know as soon as the results come out.

B: That's all we have for today's Letterbox. We'll be back right after this short break.
