The film "The Equation of Love and Death" is set for release across China on Thursday, September 18th. Written and directed by Cao Baoping, the film features an all star cast starring veteran actors Zhou Xun and Deng Chao - with supporting actors Zhang Hanyu and Wang Baoqiang.
Organizers Huayi Brothers set its premiere a day before its scheduled opening to respond to fans enthusiasm for the character Li Mi, played by actress Zhou Xun. Most of the cast members attended the premiere on Thursday night, including Zhou Xun, Zhang Hanyu and director Cao Baoping.
Li Mi is a cab driver in a big city and is haunted by the question, what happened to her true love? Her life revolves around the search for her missing boyfriend and she drives through Yunnan's twisting mountain roads, showing her boyfriend's photo to every passer-by, in a desperate bid for some clues. Drugs, murder and romance combine in this gripping story of a woman in search of her missing lover.
Li Mi is the ideal girlfriend in modern life. Many young couples queued outside Beijing's theatres to watch the film. On the internet, fans even launched sharing-love contests; requiring lovers to upload their best photos.
