With Chen Xiexia grabbing the first gold medal in weight lifting for the Chinese delegation, all media's attention is now focused on the competition of gold medals. The athletes are under great pressure. Winning medals is what the athletes are here for, but some media comment not to let winning medals become the sole purpose of the Olympics.


Table Tennis Champions Wall Unveiled

Table tennis is one of China's traditionally strong sports. A sculpture wall bearing the names of all the Olympic table tennis champions was unveiled in Beijing. Thirteen ex-champions attended the unveiling ceremony on Saturday.
