Qinhuangdao is a beautiful coastal city known for its freezing-free nice port, historical town of Shanhaiguan and summer resort Beidaihe.

A Beidaihe Native Returns to the Seaside Resort after 20 Years
I was born in Qinhuangdao and lived there for six years. During that period, I went to Beidaihe almost every week, especially in the summer. As I remember it, this famous resort was full of visitors, but the seawater and beach was dirty.

As one of the Olympic co-host cities, Beidaihe offers Beidaihe Olympic Avenue Park as a great place for tourists and local residents to visit.
Shanhaiguan
Shanhaiguan is a popular tourist destination, featuring the eastern end of the Great Wall. The "First Pass Under Heaven" is also a noticeable tourist attraction.

Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center Stadium
As one of the six co-host cities of the 2008 Beijing Games, north China's Qinhuangdao city is to host twelve matches of the Olympic football preliminaries in the city's Olympic Sports Center Stadium.

Qinhuangdao Airport
Qinhuangdao Airport, commonly known as Shanhaiguan Airport, is about 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from downtown Qinhuangdao. To support the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the newly expanded terminal building was completed in April, 2007.

Travel Tips
May to October is the golden season to visit Beidaihe. Other scenic areas are best visited from June to August, when the natural scenery is at its best.
