    2008-07-14 11:00:57     CRIENGLISH.com

The Olympic flame finished its journey in Qiqihar city, the last leg of the relay in China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, on Sunday.

Liu Yan, China's national figure-skating champion, ran the first leg. Fu Tianyu, an international champion in short track speed skating, ran the last leg.

Here's Liu Yan:

"While I am relaying the torch, I should demonstrate the vigorous power and sunny image of athletes, as well as the athletes' toughness and persistence."

A total of 208 torchbearers covered 7.5 kilometers in Qiqihar, a city also known as the "cranes' hometown."

The torch relay will move on to Changchun, capital city of northeast China's Jilin Province on Monday.

The Olympic torch is set to return to Beijing on August 6th, two days before the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games.
