Official Album for 2008 Olympic Games Released
    2008-07-08 23:01:20     CRIENGLISH.com

The launch ceremony of the Official Album for 2008 Olympic Games took place in Beijing on July 8, 2008, with one month to go for the big sports event. About 30 songs were carefully chosen for the album.

"Light the Passion, Share the Dream", "I Am a Superstar", "Forever Friends", "Beijing Welcomes You" and many other popular Olympic-based songs are on the album.

The bilingual song "Forever Friends", composed by Italian composer Giorgio Moroder and Chinese pianist Kong Xiangdong, won a lot of praise. Kong Xiangdong and Sun Nan, singer of both Chinese and English versions of the song, were present at the launch ceremony.

Kong Xiangdong says that music is an international language which can stimulate communication and eliminate misunderstanding.

"Chinese people are very friendly. We have done everything possible to make this Games to be the best in history. I don't think every country every person understands that worldwide. So music will certainly convey a message beyond words. We deliver the friendship, the warmth and the very friendly hearts of Chinese people. We use the international language music to express our feelings."

"China See", presented by super star Jackie Chan and renowned Chinese singer Tan Jing, is another beautiful song on the album. This song contains many Chinese elements and is the theme song for a large Chinese cultural exhibition called "China Story" which will be held during the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

In the music video of "China See", people can see many intangible Chinese heritage such as Chinese opera, handwriting and paper cutting. Professor Yu Dan, a household name in China for her unique interpretation of the Analects of Confucius, has also joined the shooting of music video of "China See". Scholars and musicians will lead a cultural trip through 5,000 years of history with the beautiful song.

The process to choose Olympic songs started five years ago. Tens of thousands of songs were heard before the final list was drawn up. The music videos of the 30 official Olympic songs were released together with the music album.
