Chinese Soccer Team Lost to North Korea in The Women's Asia Cup Final
    2008-06-09 10:21:58     CRIENGLISH.com
The Chinese soccer team lost to North Korea 2 to 1 in the finals of the 2008 Women's Asia Cup in Ho Chi Minh City Sunday night.

Our reporter Li Dong has the details.

North Korea got off to a strong start, but China scored first with Bi Yan's long drive 11 minutes into the first half.

North Korea then launched fierce counter strike. The strongest attack came from Kim Kyong Hwa's ferocious close-range shot, but China's goal keeper Zhang Yanru managed to put it away.

In the second half, China failed to withstand North Korea's full-on attack and finally lost its lead when Ri Kum Suk scored for North Korea with a dink spike.

The tie did not last long. Kim Yong Ae scored for North Korea again 11 minutes later, and this second goal sealed the victory.
This was North Korea's third Asia Cup win. The other two came in 2001 and 2003 respectively.

That was Li Dong with the report.
