A: Hello and welcome to Listeners Garden here on China Radio International. I'm LPC.
B: And I'm ZQ. Glad to be with you again.
A: Hey ZQ, do you know what day is today?
B: Sure, it's Saturday, March 22nd.
A: I mean, what's special about today?
B: Special? Do you mean it's the World Water Day?
A: Exactly. March 22nd, the World Water Day.
B: Well, PC, it's such a coincidence that we have been celebrating an international day every weekend for these two weeks, but it seems to me the World Water Day is not as popular as the Women's day or the Consumer Rights Day.
A: It might be, but I think the water day is more significant to people worldwide, since no one can live without water.
B: Yes, water is vital to everyone's survival, but this precious resource is diminishing rapidly and many parts of the world are extremely thirsty for water.
A: As a dedication to World Water Day, on today's program we'll take a look at China's management of its water resources, and we'll especially focus on the harnessing of the Yellow River, known as China's mother river, in answer to questions from two listeners.
B: But first, time for Letterbox.
A: Welcome to Letterbox on Listeners Garden. The first letter is from T Jaisakthivel of India.
A: Welcome back to Listeners Garden. Today is World Water Day, so our topic will also focus on water.
B: Welcome back to Listeners Garden. Now let's take a quick look at some feature programs for the coming week. B: With that, we've come to the end of this edition of Listeners Garden. If you have any comments or suggestions, you can always write to us. Our address is: English Service, China Radio International, Beijing, China. The postal code is 100040.
