The Chinese magazine Esquire has announced the Mr. Esquire winners for 2007. The awards given to men in specific categories were also revealed at an award ceremony held in the Beijing Exhibition Centre on Wednesday evening.

Despite the cold Beijing temperatures, more than thirty celebrities including soccer commentator Huang Jianxiang, TV host Li Xiang and Taiwan actor Peter Ho also known as He Rundong walked down the red carpet wearing evening clothes for the ceremony.

Launched by the Cosmo Group, the event aims to inspire Chinese men from a variety of lifestyles to have positive attitudes in their work and life. The candidates for the awards are all selected from fields such as business, academics, sports and entertainment and awarded in the categories of "health, sensibility, wisdom and wealth." The winners are decided by online polls.

All ten winners of Mr. Esquire are pioneers in their fields, including the Taiwan pop singer Richie Jen, or Ren Xianqi, the celebrity television screenwriter Hai Yan, and the coach for the women's national table tennis team Kong Linghui.¡¡

According to Wang Feng, the Chief-editor of Esquire magazine, this year's winners are younger and more energetic than last year's.
