Hello and welcome to this edition of  Reports from Developing Countries on China Radio International, I'm Zheng Chenguang in Beijing.

In today's program:

An International organization is helping the Iraqi refugee children in neighboring Syria to recover from the war trauma.

Millions of Iraqis have fled the country after the Iraqi war in 2003. About a million of them are now settling down in the neighboring country of Syria. Although 4 years passed, the war trauma still exists in many people especially the young. An international organization is currently helping these children recover from the painful memories of the war.

That was UN Radio's report on UNICEF and Partners' efforts in bringing Smiles back to Iraqi Refugee Children's faces.

Now let's take a look at some other news.

In South America, Chile and Bolivia have signed a collaboration plan to boost their military exchanges, the first of its kind for decades. The plan, signed by Chilean Defense Minister Jose Goni and his Bolivian counterpart Walker San Miguel, will strengthen their military academic exchanges, and give more transparency to their peacekeeping and military expenditure. Bolivia and Chile broke off full diplomatic ties in 1978 over disputes coastline issue, and they have not officially discussed the issue since 1987, when foreign ministers from both countries met in Uruguay but failed to reach an agreement. Despite some progress, San Miguel said the coastline issue remains unresolved.

And that concludes this edition of  Reports from Developing Countries brought to you by China Radio International. For more news and in-depth reports please visit us online at www.crienglish.com. I am Zheng Chenguang in Beijing, thanks for listening.
