Located on the Shandong Peninsula, Weihai is the eastmost city in China open to the rest of the world.Weihai covers an area of 5,436 square kilometers with a population of 2.47 million. In China, Weihai is the first state-level healthy city, the first model city in environment protection. It has been honored with the human settlement award by the UN in 2003.
