| The Chinese culture market has been booming since it opened up to the world.
One recent example is the tour of 10 Chinese cities by the famous classic Broadway musical "42nd Street".
Don Franz is the chief executive officer of the joint Sino-US venture that brings "42nd Street" to China.
"One of the things that makes China so exciting is all the brand-new theatres that are being built. And we are making a plan for next year to bring in three shows to tour as many as 10 cities in China."
In 2005, China began to allow foreign investors to enter the country's performance market.
Cameron Mackintosh is the president of Cameron Mackintosh Ltd. in the UK.
"I'm very honored that the Chinese government invited me to help them make musical theatre a part of Chinese culture. The challenge of being part of the great journey to put on shows in China is one of the most exciting challenges in my life."
Imported films, soap operas and Sino-foreign cooperative programs are popular among Chinese people. Since 2000, the Chinese government has implemented several policies to encourage non-state-owned capital to invest in cultural industries.
