Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has harshly criticized Hamas for using force to take over Gaza last week.
It is Abbas' toughest speech since he fired the Hamas-led cabinet and replaced it with a new government.
He says the Hamas leadership must apologize to the Palestinian people and must hand over all properties and institutions to the new legitimate government.
Meanwhile, tension remained high in the Palestinian territories on Wednesday, following deadly clashes between Palestinian fighters and Israeli troops in Gaza and the West Bank, killing four Palestinians.
