In sports, holders China has claimed the Sudirman Cup for a record sixth time after beating Indonesia 3-0 in the final of the world mixed team badminton championships on Sunday.

The hot favorites have made seven appearances in the final of the biennial event and only lost once to South Korea 3-1 in Eindhoven in 2003.

Chinese mixed duo Zheng Bo and Gao Ling came back from one game down to beat Limpele Flandy and Vita Marissa 19-21, 21-17 and 21-19.

Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng built up China's edge to 2-0 by thrashing new pair Kido Markis and Candra Wijaya 21-11, 21-13 in men's doubles before Olympic champion Zhang Ning held her nerves to complete the 3-0 victory with a 21-16, 21-9 win over Adriyanti Firdasari.
