Choosing the Right Drink in Summer
    2007-06-13 10:11:55     CRIENGLISH.com

Everyone enjoys a refreshing drink to beat the summer heat, but how do you choose the right one?

The Beijing News quotes food safety expert Yang Yuexin as saying that people should learn more about nutrition content before they buy.

The expert from Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention says one recommendation is understanding the roles of protein, calcium and energy in drinks for optimum health benefits.

Yang notes that people should be aware of calories in their dinks, stressing the importance of limiting consumption of sugar and fat.

The article also suggests avoiding fizzy drinks before sleeping, otherwise calories cannot be used by the body and are stored as fat.
