Dangling that dingle, Jangling this jingle, but there will be no mangaling of this mingling. Well, perhaps what's coming up isn't so much mingling as it me singaling...out the sports on china drive.

It's debatable how much sense that prelude really made. But hey, I've never been into debating so why start now.

Yao Ming Named Player of The Week

The big man is back! And to prove that he has overcome that injury back in December the Houston Rockets center Yao Ming has taken named the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week.

That week spanning Monday, Mar. 26 through Sunday, Apr. 1.

It marks the second time this season and the fifth time in his career the long legged one has earned Player of the Week honors.
7-6, 310 lbs. Yao was also named West Player of the Week for games played Nov. 6-12, averaged 30.0 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.25 blocks in leading Houston to a 3-1 week.

This time around the Yao-bowski posted three straight double-doubles to close the week, including consecutive games of 35 or more points against the Lakers and Jazz.

Yao's week was highlighted with a season-high 39 points on 11-of-18 shooting and 17-of-21 free throws in a 107-104 overtime win against the Lakers. The Rockets are now 11-5 since Yao's return from injury.

Wang Dalei May Follow Sun to Join PSV

PSV Eindhoven, a leading Dutch soccer club, hopes to import Wang Dalei, China's national team goalie, after successfully borrowing China's top left side defender Sun Xiang.

Shanghai Shenhua, Wang's owner - the city's only football club in the country's top division, says Eindhoven has contacted them about the goalie.

PSV invited Wang to train on trial in Netherlands last year. But United FC, Wang's former club, refused the Dutchmen's invitation.

Zhu Jun, Shenhua's new boss, who refused PSV when he governed United, says he will let Wang go if PSV's offer is suitable.
Zhu spent 150 million yuan (US$19.35 million) on the merger of United and Shenhua early this year.

Zhang Chen is now in Shenhua's starting line-up as goalie.

PSV imported Sun on loan from Shenhua in January. The 25-year-old left back became the first Chinese player to appear in an European Champions League match when he came on for Manuel Da Costa in the first leg of the league's second round at Eindhoven.

World Record Spree Sets Scene for Olympic Assault

Led by Michael Phelps' seven gold medals, the United States dominated the world swimming championships in Melbourne.

The Americans won a leading 36 medals, including 20 golds - equaling their best showing in 29 years.

If the world's other swimmers want to catch up, they've got some work to do before next year's Beijing Games, especially China.

"We haven't seen anything from China yet," said Jon Urbanchek, special assistant to US men's head coach Bob Bowman.

"Hopefully, they're not keeping anyone to surprise us."

As the host country in 2008, China will be eager to top the medal count, and swimming offers a huge cache of gold, silver and bronze medals.

However, the team may not be very encouraged based on their showing in Melbourne.

For the first time in recent years, China brought a full team of more than 40 swimmers to a major international competition. The Chinese were represented in 13 of the 40 finals, and won two medals.

"There's a big difference between us and the others," freestyler Yang Yu says. "Our gap is very big. They all swam very fast, and it felt like we were moving in the same spot."

Next year in Beijing, the Olympic finals will be held in the morning to appease American broadcaster NBC, which will televise them live in US prime time.

That could be a problem for at least one Chinese swimmer.

"I feel tired racing in the morning," freestyler Pang Jiaying says. "I would swim a lot better if I swam at night."---just make sure that it's twenty minutes after eating.

Wu Peng earned the silver behind Phelps in the 200-meter butterfly. The Chinese women took the bronze in the 400 medley relay.

But for all of you out there I offer nothing but gold. Not literal gold though cause, well, I just don't have. Although, figurative gold I'v got tons of for you. As well as this...that's the sports on china drive.
