In the Algarve Cup women's football tournament, China has suffered another loss by losing 4-1 to Iceland in the playoff for ninth place.

Iceland shot its first goal in the 67th minute and upped the score to 2-0 three minutes later. They scored another two goals in the last 10 minutes.

The Chinese players seemed to have lost their composure but they rallied together to score one consolation goal towards the end of the match.

China's caretaker coach Wang Haiming has commented on the unexpected loss.

"Many factors led to this defeat. One is that our team members are quite young. They also lost their desire to play, let alone to win."

He says he's told his team to pluck up and not lose their confidence, adding that they must examine their performance.
