China's "diving queen" Guo Jingjing will lead a 14-member squad to compete in the upcoming 2007 FINA World Diving Championships.

The tournament is one of the most important diving events before the Beijing Olympics. Winners of the World Championships and the World Cup next year will qualify for the 2008 Games.

To train more young divers for the Olympic Games, China has sent its rookies, like Jia Tong and Chen Ruolin, to the tournament.

The "dream team" has been training in the eastern Chinese city of Jinan over the past month in preparation for the competition.

This year's diving world championships are scheduled to be held in Melbourne from March 17 to April 1.
